THE 9th ANNUAL WALL STREET JAZZ FESTIVAL

2011’s Festival was especially poignant. Occurring Labor Day weekend, the first good weather week after the damage from Hurricanes Irene and Lee; many folks had suffered tremendous loss, but the Festival provided a welcome diversion and was very well-attended. It felt like a community party, everyone had a great time, and we organizers felt especially proud to present our 8th annual outdoor concert.

The 9th Annual Wall Street Jazz Festival 2012’s lineup is spectacular: Ingrid Jensen, is an extraordinary musician, a well-knwn trumpeter with much international fame. We are really proud to be presenting her, with her quartet this year. www.ingridjensen.com

We also have Natalie Cressman, a young up-and-coming trombonist/vocalist/composer from California. She will bring her quartet from New York City. www.nataliecressman.com

Rounding out the “newbies” to this year’s festival will be Chris McNulty, vocalist extraordinaire, with her husband, guitarist Paul Bollenback. http://chrismcnulty.com.

Finally, we will include bari sax Claire Daly, alto sax “Sweet” Sue Terry, piano Peggy Stern, with a kicking rhythm section for the Estrella Salsa, ‘dancing in the street’ set to conclude the Festival.

Our 9th Festival is particularly ambitious. We need your help in funding, pure and simple. Please help us bring this wonderful, forward-thinking music to our Hudson River community.

“This festival had a lot that made it special-- the spirit from which it all blossomed, the fact that all of us share a lifetime and commitment to this wonderful artform: jazz , the lack of any pretension and or competition, the feeling of friendship and support , the fact that it happened on Wall St , Kingston.” –Sumi Tonooka

“I have had many people make mention of it to me: how thrilled they were about the event, the location, the talent, the set up, the sound,... and with hopes that it can materialize again next year!”--  Betty MacDonald
